Antique 1860 Abraham Lincoln, Hannibal Hamlin 47mm Donut Campaign Ferrotype:

For your consideration is this original partial ferrotype for the 1860 campaign of future President Abraham Lincoln and VP Hannibal Hamlin. This is the largest size of the donut ferrotypes, measuring 47mm in diameter. Originally this would have had two sides with Abraham Lincoln being featured on the other side.This ferrotype has the original copper frame with floral decorations on the edges. The ferrotype is clearly marked \"Hannibal Hamlin\". The frame has two chips out of the bottom edge as shown in the photograph, which I believe would be at least partially covered if you have the original Lincoln side. Otherwise it has a nice dark patina and wear consistent with age. The ferrotype is dark and has some corrosion, a few small flecks missing over his face, and scattered scratching. Despite the issues, a rare piece to display on its own or to pair with its mate and complete the ferrotype as designed. Measures 47mm, pretty impressive when compared to the smallest version of the donut ferrotypes.
