This beautiful Scenic Micro Beaded purse came from a truly wonderful estate. I recently had the opportunity to purchase \'pre-estate sale\'. The former owners grandmother was from France and everything I purchased was of incredible quality from a life \'well-lived\'. Amongst numerous linens and antique fabrics was a treasurebox of the most incredible metallic trims, clothing and laces I have ever seen. The trims date to the early to mid 1800\'s, most have dates from the 1860\'s. There were glass vanity trays and frames with exquisite metallic lace with hand painted images and enameled trays, there were religious relics, embroideries from centuries past and then there was this purse...at first I thought it was a beaded pillow cover, then I took a closer look.
This, is an amazing Scenic, True, Micro beaded purse. The scene features a very early London street, cityscape with Big Ben in the background. As you move the purse, the scene continues all the way around, the scene never stops. A horse drawn carriage and footman awaits the lovers in the foreground. It has such lovely colors, Cornflower Blue, Brick Red, Golden Yellow, plants, urns, flowers and more.The purse has a square shape and has a beaded fringe at the bottom. The beading is so thin, even holding both sides together, it is as thin as a card.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:This purse was found WITHOUT a handle and without a lining. It has had two repairs done on the inside (see photos), it is actually only missing a few beads in the scene. The fringe ismissing 3 sections. There are no additional rips or tears and I do believe this purse is worthy of repair and saving. I am offering a buy it now price that isconsiderably low considering the age and other details. It is truly an incredible piece and so deserving of being restored. Everything was so well preserved it has been a pleasure to sort through.
