Antique 1800s Christmas or Easter Egg Ornament folk art monogram initials HR HB H B R

RARE 1800 ´s Christmas - Easter Onament of an empty REAL egg covered with wax and precious artfully decorated with twisted silver wire ( Leonisches Gespinnst ) and glass pearls in form of forget-me-not, roses and garlands. Initials of HR or HB of narrow twisted silver wire.

This egg probably was given as a present for a birth as a fertility symbol made by a close family member or a cloister work. These symbols then were kept as protection relic under glass mounts and hanged up seasonal for Christmas or to Easter on a bunch of early blooming twigs as catkins or forsythias.
What a miracle such a fragile piece of art has survived during centuries.

Size inch : c. 2-1/2 inch high.

In fine condition with some signs due to age. Not brocken or chiped. Only wax have some wear, wire is loose some places and few pearls are missing. All in all in good condition and very fine decorative impression for age.
