Antique 18th c. French Religious Altar Cruet Set - Crystal Brass Hand-Painted:

This is a gorgeous French antique altar cruet set which includes 2 cruets for water and wine, plus the tray. Very rare! The individual cruets are made of lead crystal and are etched with a star and vine pattern around the center of the cruet and polka dot pattern around the bottom of the cruet. The individual cruets measure 6.5 inches tall by 4 inches wide, and have no chips or cracks and are ready to use. One cruet is set with a white pearl on the lid, and the other cruet is set with a cabochon ruby colored stone. The tray is scalloped brass with etchings and has 4 miniature handpainted round plaques, 1 on each side. They depict St. Joseph and 3 other apostles. There are two arched mounts on the tray to keep the cruets secure. The tray measures approximately 11 inches wide and is 7.25 inches deep. I believe this is French in origin and most likely dates from the 1860\'s to 1880\'s. In very good condition with the exception of a darker green discolored spot on one of the cruet handles. This may clean up, but I have not tried cleaning it. Please see pictures.
