Antique 1928 Norwegian Silver Hand Hammered Arts Crafts Serving Spoon:
Presented is a handsome Norwegian silver serving spoon by Th Marthinsen circa 1910-1930 in the Dovre pattern. The handle has a wonderful hammered finish topped with applied flower and scroll decoration. The pattern is very similar to the Hardanger pattern made by Magnus Aase of Bergen. The back of the handle is engraved with a W monogram in a fancy script and the date 25-8-1928. The ladle is hallmarked on the reverse with 830S for the silver purity, NM, and K. Hagen for the retailer. The condition is excellent. The spoon has some surface wear commensurate with age and light use, but this is very minor. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The serving spoon is 9 inches long.
The weight is 61.7 grams or 2.2 ounces.
