A wonderful charcoal drawing dating to the 2nd half of the 19th century and depicting three sporting dogs on point. The dogs, two setters and one pointer, are beautifully drawn and displayed in a fantastic carved oak frame complete with old glass and wooden backboard.

  • Framed measurements:just under 19" x just over 22"
  • Sight size/viewing area: ~11" x 14 1/2"

Purchased in the Hudson River Valley area of New York. VG to Excellent overall antique condition; the carved frame has a decorative inner sub-frame and there is a small area of missing gessoed decoration on the bottom left, nothing distracting; ready to display.

Excellent piece of Americana and a very pleasing sporting dogs portrait.
