WE ARE SELLING AN OUTSTANDING ANTIQUE TEA CADDY. THIS IS A VERY NICE EARLY 19C OR LATE 18C CARVED WOODEN TEA BOX. THIS LITTLE BOX IS VERY ORNATE WITH ITS CARVINGS. THERE IS AN OWL SITTING ON A TREE BRANCH AND THE LEAVES ARE MADE OF CORAL INLAY. THE ARTIST SIGNATURE IS ETCHED INTO A SMALL PIECE OF RED CORAL ON THE SIDE OF THE BOX. THE BOX MEASURES 5 13/16" LONG YB 3.5" DEEP AND STANDS 2.75" TALL. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS A STRING THAT RAN AROUND THE BOTTOM AND UP THROUGH THE TOP TO HOLD THE TOP ON. VERY NICE PIECE. THERE ARE SOME CHIPS AND SCRATCHES FROM AGE. ALSO, ITS MISSING SOME INLAY BUT THIS IS NORMAL FOR ITS AGE. THE BOX WOULD LOOK FANTASTIC IN ANY HOME OR OFFICE.
