A handsome mirror pair of antique 19C Staffordshire hunter figurines, each is a Highlands man on horseback with a large antlered stag draped over his horse.   Successful hunts. Figures have a subtle distinction with the hand placement on each, otherwise they are nearly identical and created as a pair.   Each figurine has 2 clumps of porcelain grass on the base.   Hand painted in simple Staffordshire fashion, much of the paint is worn, mute testimony to their age and use.    Each a regal looking hunter on their steed.   Flat backs.   Large figurines that display beautifully.

Beautiful pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Nick to glaze finish on ear tip of 1 horse, see detail pic, not readily seen as head is looking down.   Black glass or firing spots on 1 horse neck near reins, occurred in the making. Wear to gold and painting loss in general as noted. All over crazing consisitent with age.
