Near and dear to antique Stoneware Collectors, is this very nice estate fresh pickin\' from a local estate....a nice, preowned and usedcondition and form Unsigned Maker but MARKED CAPACITY 1.5gallon Salt Glaze Crock decorated on two sides with different decor, with Lid, to hold variousfoodstuffs of yesteryear perhaps pickles in salt brine, fermented juice, things we no longerdine ontoday butbetter known as, The Good Old Days, to those of us born, before the button pushing e-techno-tronic digital age. Back in those days, if you said \"mouse\" we meant that little fur critter, not a plastic thing a ma jig. And a \"screen\" was a wire mesh you sifted with, not something you peered at plugged in. Likewise, the \"cookie\" was something Grandma baked, not some computer part. Ahhh,,,,yes. Times past, the days when thisCrock was new, selling for pennies at the country store as a utilitarian object, butnow elevated to collector status desired by every Watcher out there reading this. The horse drawn carriages were clipclopping past at a lazy pace! This was your 19th c Tupperware! Welcome to Spring with brushed bold three petal Tulip, do see all pictures above!

It fits well with very little rattle room.

Crock Base stands 8\" tall on a 9\" diameter base, not counting lid height when closed. .Weighs 7.5 pounds unwrapped. Smoke free home.Bottom has concentric circles as wire cut off the potters wheel. There is a thumbnail and smaller chip on front lip above right hand tulip petal; some grey drip to right side rim and 2 small places on right ear lug. No hairlines running though major body portion. No discoloration from greasy stains. No white calicification to interior slip glaze.

LID has several small useage chips and measures 9\" diameter. Three thumbnail chips to interior step rim, and three smaller one to exterior rim edge. No hairlines to major lid body construction or upper flat brown dappled knob.
