This oil Painting \'\'Wood Gatherer\'\' is by 19th c. Dutch Master, Barend Hendrik Koekkoek. The Koekkoek family of artists stretches from the 18th to the 20th century. Barend Hendrick Koekkoek (1849 - 1909) was the youngest son of Hermanus Koekkoek (1815 -1882). He painted landscapes,specialising in woodland scenes. A theme that runs through his work is wood gathering.
The painting is in good condition with slight cracking & minor in-painting that one would expect to see in a work of art of this age (see photos 7 & 8). Original Gold-Leaf frame. Painting was restored & relined in the early 80\'s. The painting was Authenticated by Christie\'s in 1989 (see last two photos of documents).
