This heavy silver frame is .833 standard silver as marked on the back with a lion passant.
The frame is decorated with playful cherubs or putti and 2 dolphin fish.
Has a spring button, when pressed releases the catch and opens the bag.
The chatelaine belt clip measures 6.5cm in length. The frame measures 14cm accross.
In great condition for its age with no restorations.
This 19th century purse even retains its original velvet and the patina to the silver. I have left it untouched and could do with a polish.
The silver used in this 19th century Sterling Pocket Book is heavy and I will guarantee there is at least 6 troy ounces.
The clip isn\'t marked but I\'m sure it must be the same low grade silver.
Overall length including clip and bag measures 21 inches.
The chain is uneven, so maybe this is so it hangs in a certain angle, not sure!
