Item Description - A good mid 19th century French made travellers pocket reliquary made in the form of a carved chalk figure of the Madonna & Baby Jesus set with a surrounding pattern of scrolled paper which has been gilded and decorated with little shiny paper \'gems\'. Underneath is hand written on paper \'Reliquae Agnus Dei\' (this is hard to see as its fallen a little deep towards the back of the box). This is all set behind a hand cut circular pane of glass and within a lacquered and decorated box. These kind of items were often hand made by Nuns in Abbeys or religious retreats.

Size - 2 1/2 inch diameter (6.5cm)

Condition - There are some small issues/wear and tear that you expect from an item of this age. In this case it comes in the form of a crack to the bottom section of the chalk figure, some loose paper \'gems\' inside and a small \'chip\' to the lacquer on the back of the case rim. You can see these issues on my photos, so will be aware that they are not really significant.

International Shipping - Items under value £50 sent by airmail unless otherwise stated in the item description. Items that sell for over £50 GBP will have an extra £6 added to the shipping to cover the extra cost for international tracked or signed for delivery. Please note this is compulsory and non-negotiable so take it into account before placing your offer. Bulky or heavy items will be sent by a courier, but this will be mentioned in the description if required (valuable heavy items sent by courier do not require the extra cost for tracking).

Due to a recent increase in postal prices and with and paypal taking near 15% from the postage paid, I have unfortunately had to add a small amount to cover my packaging costs for each parcel as I can no longer afford to pay for brand new boxes, bubblewrap and loose fill out of my own pocket. Please be aware that I am actually still losing money on postage costs for each parcel sent and it is costing me more to send then the actual stated shipping price that you pay.
