American silverplate tray by American maker A. Ledig & Son, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (c.1874-1890). This is the kind of tray that would be used for display, for a tea set or the like. It does not have handles. Beautiful etched décor, florals in the aesthetic taste. Curved ribbed rim. Four script initial in the center. It is silverplated metal so it is very heavy.SIZE: About 16 1/4\" x 13\". Depth is about 3/4\".MARKS: On back in two places ~ A. Ledig & Son, PhilaCONDITION: Antique item from a Philadelphia estate. I would describe the condition as shabby chic. Let\'s just say it shows its age and has a lot of character. There is a noticeable dent ~ see photo for location. Just a tad of bending at some corners (not really noticeable). On the back there is some peeling silverplate in a few spots. Overall, expect some surface wear/scratches and tarnish. I changed a few of the photos to black and white (from color) so that you could see the details and condition better. Sells \'as, is\'.
