Wonderful Antique American Indian Reed Woven Purse

Measures 6 1/2 wide x 3 tall ( with handle 4\" tall) x 3\" deep

Amazing weaving !

Bottom at one time had those red and cream labels that used to be used on antiques for identification- it has since peeled mostly off.

The round trim you see is actually bentwood that is wrapped with split reed.

There are a few little spots of wear, worm holes? ~ One on top~ a few spots of reed wear along bottom trim, and one little break to one reed on the outside and one on the inside.

Nonetheless ~ In exceptionally clean condition ~

Several different style of weaving- a criss cross, vertical wrap~double straight stitch in the form of a diamond and braids.

The Handle and latch are wood formed and wrapped, the latch is 1 1/4 long x 1/4 wide and 1/16ths thick ! Even at 1/16th thick- it is still wrapped with reed- Very Nice workmanship !

2 Reed straps are the hinges

No dry rot, No stains
