Early natural Grade A exquisite jadeite jade Chinese sterling silver ring. Marked and signed with Chinese signature, characters.
The Jadeite is a prong set oval cabochon measuring 14mm by 9mm. The stone has remarkable color which varies depending on light and background. Photos show the stone in sunlight, filtered light and indoors. Not spinach jade, it has a great translucency, glossy smooth texture and natural inclusions and striations.
Silver setting tests as 925 sterling.
We believe this ring dates from the early 1900s. The marks show this ring was not originally made for export. (Many times that\'s indicative of a high quality jade.)
Ring is size 6 US, and can be sized by a professional jeweler.
Weight is 3.1 grams.

BTW - Who We Are
Well, really, we\'re like everyone else. We love and hope. We fear and fret and get mad, occasionally. Because we live in San Diego we spend a lot of time outdoors. And, yes, we do have seasons here. But they\'re subtle. You have to pay attention to the trees or the way the light changes.
We love San Diego but our hearts are also rooted in South Jersey, where we grew up. This was in the very historic part of New Jersey - in the forests across the river from Philadelphia. This was the place where the American Revolution churned and bubbled like a hot tub. There\'s a tavern in our town called the Indian King where George Washington and the 1st Continental Congress met in secret after they fled the British in Philadelphia.
There, we learned to love the old things, all those antiques. Some of these objects were so cherished they were kept in mint condition. Or the item was so loved it was worn and worn and worn again (we describe that in our listings, of course). One generation after another, sometimes for a hundred years or more.
These objects were owned by people who loved and hoped, were afraid, or fretful or even mad, occasionally. They were people like us.
Like everyone else.
