Antique Art Nouveau Chalkware Statue of Lovely Femme Fatale
For sale is an antique Art Nouveau chalkware sculpture of a lovely Femme Fatale. This was an estate sale find. The gentleman at the sale was selling his decesed brothers estate. His brother collected many varied items and he could not tell me much about this item other that it was very old. On the bottom is hand written what I believe says \"Florian Hand Sculpted\" and \"13021 aps\". Check out the last photo as you may read something different. In my research of this piece I found that some chalkware was sculpted and the numbers on the back of this piece may indicate an Austrian origin. Nice face with Mona Lisa style smile and side eye glance with a rose in her hair.
There may be a signature on the base under the girl\'s left foot, but it may also just be decoration on the base. Please make a determination for yourself. Perhaps it is \"JC\".
Condition: Chalkware, especially that of any age, is subject usually to chips, breaks, and easily scratched up. This piece has its shares of small chips around the base and hair area and maybe a very small hairline crack on he arm just above the head. It is also very dirty, but given how old it probably is I consider the condition to be good. Item is being sold as is.
