This is a very attractive and well made box from the arts & crafts period. It is made in copper, which now has a lovely bronzed patina. I have only cleaned the panel on the lid to highlight the beautifully detailed outdoor domestic scene. The clothing and clogs suggest that this box may be Dutch. This panel is silvered to contrast with the copper on the body of the box. No doubt the whole box could be polished to bring it back to shiny copper, but I have left that choice to the buyer. The interior is lined with blue velvet.3The box measures 6.25 inches (16 cm) by 3.75 inches (10 cm) and is 2.25 inches (6 cm) high. Overall this box is in very good condition.
