Antique Austrian Bronze statue of Cleopatra, Egypt, Queen of the Nile.
Rare art sculpture because it depicts a more graphic scene of her holding a poison ASP snake to her nude breast.
A pair of Sphinx bookend each side of the base.
Very Egyptian Revival. Cold painted Orientalist Viennese bronze work - has remains of color.
Marked AUSTRIA and has a foundry mark that looks like an A over a T inside a circle.
SLATE base has chips and scratches particularly on the back and underside. The bronze itself I have left in as-found condition. No charge for the dust!
The screws and style indicate 1910\'s to 1920\'s.
Measures: apx 9 inches high x 8 5/8 long x 3 1/4 inches deep. Weighs 7 lbs. (Ship weight will be more)
