My research places this button at the time of the Revolutionary War from the group known as Butler\'s Rangers. They were British Loyalists fighting against the American colonists.Button is made of lead or pewterIt has a seam mark down the middle on the back of it.The eye of the button is complete and unbroken.15/16\" diameterThe elderly woman selling the items was a button collector as was her grandmother & uncle, so she wasn\'t sure of the dating or origin.Possibly dug....been in attics for generations. Owner was originally from NJ and lives in Lancaster County last 50 years. Normal wear but still legible.
