Antique Beautiful Victorian Royal Society Embroidered Silk Photo Frame, Rare

This listing is for a beautiful, hard to find, Victorian photo frame made by The Royal Society. I assume this was/is a British Company but I can not find much information about them. This lovely frame is a large round size with an oval opening for a photo. The back is cardboard covered in fabric with beautiful silk embroidered sprays of light pink and white flowers with buds and green stems and leaves. There is glass on the front and the piece is held together by an intricate brass colored metal frame with dart shaped pieces on the front and small tabs on the back. The easel back is made of thick cardboard which has become detached from the main part of the frame. It was held together with stitches of silk thread, hence its deterioration over the years. The back is marked with lots of information. The top label reading \"Trade The Royal Society Mark Photo Frame Pat. Appl\'d for, To remove the glass and mat, bend the little heart-shaped brass clips until they stand straight up all around the edge. The mat is of water-color board and may be painted, or covered with embroidered linen as preferred. Replace the mat and glass, and bend down the clips over the edge which is easily done with the fingers, or a soft piece of wood.\" The round label at the bottom reads \"Royal (crown insignia) Society.\" The frame is also stamped at the top of the easel back \"Benner\'s Art Store 141-143 Arcade Bldg.\" There is a large slit at the top of the frame which allows for removal and insertion of your photo. Frame measures 9 1/2\" across. I will include the photo of the two adorable boys in the listing, if desired; just ask. Fresh from an old south shore Massachusetts estate.
