Late 1800s\'s Antique Birdseye Maple J B Van Sciver Co Wardrobe Armoire with Massive Mirror Door

It stands and impressive 81inches tall and is just over 42 inches wide. The main body of the wardrobe is about 20 1/2 inches deep but the serpentine face of the lower drawer extend an additional 3 1/2 inches. Everything about this piece has attention to detail.even the inside of the sizable storage drawer at the bottom has Birdseye Maple bottom panels.The three interior storage drawers share the same detail.The entire piece is simply covered in Birdseye Maple, interior and exterior!The giant door mirror has been expertly beveled to match the detail trim of the door.it is original to the peace and has minimal silver loss.The back of the wardrobe has even been finished. It is quite presentable and can stand alone in the center of the room. The carved wooden detail has minimal loss and chipping. As seen in one of the many highly detailed photos, there is an old damage spot on the very top of the armoire. It appears as if there was a slight water leak above it at some point in its life. It can only be viewed by someone extremely tall. It is not viewable from the front or side. The sides of the unit bow out to maintain the same serpentine motif of the front. A somewhat newer hanging rod has been attached to the interior to allow for convenient storage of garments. This sale includes a key that works in the functioning door lock but may not be original to the key.
