Antique bronze toad, 1.6\" ( 4cm ) in length.Dark brown patina,solid cast , cast from nature. It has been suggested that it could be Paduan 16th century however I feel more comfortable to offer it as 19th Century perhaps French or Japanese. For similar examples see \" A Bronze Bestiary \" , Rosenberg & Stiebel, New York April26 to June 22, 1985, no 66 & 67.
