Offered herein is avery early circa late 17th-early 18th century European hunting sword. Overall25-1/2\" with a 20-1/2\" blade. The grip is made of rayskin/sharkskinand is in sound condition-save for some wormholes. The sword blade has a \"thatched\"pattern on the ricasso. On one side of blade there is an engraved hunting dogand fowl and on the other a dog and boar. The extension of one side of crossguardappears to have been slightly clipped. The blade has some patches of lightpitting. No sheath. An attractive hunting sword.
