For sale is one vintage/antique IKEBANA JAPANESE cast iron censer incense burner prayer bowl. This could also be used as flower bowl/vase/planter. This is a three footed bowl. It also has two iron rings attached so it can be hung. Its design is very much in the arts and crafts movement style. The exterior is a textured rough surface decorated with a 12 fleurs-de-lis embellished shields or coats-of-arms. Above each fleur-de-lis is a raised circle. Above and below these raised circles are sets of raised double rings; one set just below the rim and the other just above the fleurs-de-lis. The top and bottom halves of this cast iron bowl were cast separately and then joined together. This creates a seam about half way down the side of the bowl. The bottom half is a simple textured surface. The two iron rings attach through two lions heads; one on either side of the bowl. This would make a spectacular bonsai planter.This bowl is approximately 5-7/8 inches in diameter across the top rim and 3-1/4 inches tall. Across the middle, it is approximately 7-1/4 inches in diameter. This substantial piece weighs approximately 3-1/4 pounds.This piece is in excellent used vintage condition. There is a nice patina on the outside. On the inside, there is rust and calcium deposits from holding water. Please see the photographs. There is no post-factory damage, such as dings, dents, splits, or repairs.
