Antique CHINESE PAINTING SUPERB ART Noble Teacher w Scholars Rock and Boy Servant on SILK Signed
SUPERB work of antique art from China. Purchased in China 1920s or earlier, when it was painted I cannot say how old when painted. Great image of Wise man / sage with a great Scholars Rock with boy, signed as seen.
This piece and a matching other piece came from a pilot who with the Republic Chinese during the rule of Chiang Kai-shek. The pilots grand daughter says he flew for Soong May-ling and friends on a number of occasions and these were gifts from Her and those in her circle. The dates check out and he was a pilot and in China in this period I cannot confirm the Soong connection. Impeccably framed!
