Antique Caucasian Azeri/Shahsavan silk striped wool jajim or cover. Woven on a narrow loom. Seven strips sewn together, with overall dimensions approximately 82\"x 71\". Sourced in rural Azerbaijan and purchased in Moscow late 90\'s. As found: wear consistent with age and use--split seams, holes & old repair, most patched from rear using fragments from similar pieces.Jajims were household objects woven as dowry items for domestic use, and not originally intended for retail sale.
