Excellent example of antique Chinese incremental / balance scale to weight gold, medicine, etc., in extremely good antique condition, circa 19th c. Dark hardwood patina,smooth, beautiful grain. Interior has hand-carved indentations to hold brass scale plate, cast brass weight with curved edges, and ebony rod. Hand-wrought pivot works perfectly to open and close the holder. Wax seal on cover. 12.5\" l x 3.5\" w, closed. Wonderful gift or add to collection.
