Antique Cyprian Labecki 875 Silver Russian Wall Mounted Candle HolderAn antique 8 candle holder that can stand or mount on a wall, crafted by the Russian silversmith Cyprian Labecki. There are numerous defects from age an use yet the detailing in the images remains exquisite. The top shows 2 rams next to the Imperial crown while there can also be seen peacocks and birds nesting on top of palm trees. On the back there is an attached bracket to mount on a wall and also 2 holders on the sides, unknown what was originally in the holders.Cyprian Labecki practiced out of Warsaw. The piece is fully hallmarked with Labecki\'s scripted signature, the master assayer mark for Josef Sosnkowski, dated to 1881, 84 zolotnik (87.5% silver), and the city mark for Warsaw.
Measures approximately 9 inches in height and 9.5 inches from the widest point of the feet. Weighs a total of 415 grams (13.3 Troy ounces). The total weight includes the small nut backings on the bottom of the candle holders and the back of the piece.Comes in antique preowned condition with numerous defects. One of the original candle holders is missing, 7 remain. Some of the ram\'s horns appear broken and bent. Some of the nut fasteners are missing and some appear to have been replaced with more modern fasteners. The piece leans to the back when placed on a flat surface, does not sit flat as some of the bottom feet are bent.
