this doll IS WITH issues! pleasekeep in mind that damage forgiveness should be considered due to rarity! there is a lot of play and wear and tare and mends and repairs. none of which are professionally done. THERE IS NO REPAINT ON THIS DOLL!! the beautiful face and amazing hair are all original paint. george still has his rare ponytail TIP in back.
(clothing is just from scraps and not original and not old. it is just something to put on him, and instead of being sewn in place, a dab of glue is on CLOTHING (not body) to hold it in place for display.)
in it\'s lifetime, this doll did what it was meant to do!! It WAS PLAYED WITH AND ENJOYED!!! i think that is wonderful! george looks like he was in many wars..his limbs suffered the most damage and one leg appears longer than the other, most likely due to loss of stuffing and the salvation repairs. doll needs to be cleaned but has NO sour odors.most issues of weakness and repair on this rare doll are to feet, tab joints, limbs, body, ETC.this doll is remains amazing and the rare face and head survived to this beautiful rich patina!! there are issues on head..hair...but not as major as on rest of body and limbs AND NOT REPAINTED! he is approx 24 inches tall.
