Offered here is afabulouspair of antique sconces. These are German, Meissen or Dresden, very fine quality hard porcelain dating mid 1800\'s, they are not marked. Each features anexquisitecherub face with graceful wings, scroll work flows to the tip with ornate high reliefflorals, scrolled designs edged with gilt. The coloring is off-white with shades of pale green and ecru with pink and pastel flowers. The pieces are amatchingpair but slightly differ from each other; one cherub has a longer face, his hair seems to blow back as if in a breeze, the other has a rounder face and rounder curls, both have high color; blonde hair, blue eyes, rosy cheeks, open mouth. The scones also vary slightly in size, one is; 9\"L x 6\"W x 5 1/2\" D, the other is 9 1/2\"L x 6 1/4\" W x 5\" D. Each weighs about 1 lb. and 11 oz. They were hung with a heavy string from the back, I have left it attached but would replace it with wire. Both are in excellent condition. They are absolutelyexquisite!
