Up for sale is this scarce Dutch brass spice tower, I have never seen such a spice tower, it is similar to the work on the Dutch brass menorahs from the 18th century, I would assume this spice tower should also date to the late 18th- early 19th century, the work is very primitive and the two parts (top and bottom) are constructed from sheets of brass that were cut out and pierced to make this form, the connection spots between the different parts were welded with lead in a very promote way.

Just an amazing and truly rare piece of Dutch Jewish history.

I have searched in a lot of catalogues and books on judaica and couldn\'t find any one similar to this, this item was bought from a Danish Jewish family with routs in holland, it was said that this piece was in the family for around 200 years.

Condition: good condition for age, some dents and scratches, original patina, signs of use and lead welding signs.
