Offered here is an antique 3 gallon stoneware jug, made by F.H. Cowden of Harrisburg, PA.
This 19th century jug is in wonderful condition with no damage other than a few small shallow flakes at the mouth edge.
No cracks are visible and it sounds solid when tapped.

It has unique markings of grays and browns on the bottom half and a brownish cream color on the top half.
The mouth itself is brown.
F. H. COWDEN is impressed near the mouth.
Measurements are 15 1/2\" tall and 9 1/2\" in diameter.
This is a superior example of these antique collectible jugs and it looks great.
