This is an intricately hand carved antique faux ivory brooch. We are not certain of the age of this piece, but it surely falls somewhere between 1900 and 1940. It measures 2" by 1". The brooch features a wildly imaginative sea monster, who is frothing the ocean around him in a sea monster rampage. The scene and characters encircled in the middle add to the overall beauty of this piece. The brooch and pinback are in excellent condition.
