Antique Silverplate Footed Figural Covered Serving Bowl or Butter Dish
Manhattan N.Y. Plate Company, C. 1856 - 1871
This amazing antique silverplate dish is best described by the photos! It is oval and measures approx. 7.25 x 6 x 5.5 inches (H with \"finial\"). Perched on the top is a Ram; the entire dish is highly ornate, including the feet. The inside has a removable, slotted tray. I do not know the original intention of this dish- it was most likely used to serve butter.
This serving dish or butter dish is in excellent Antique condition- there are a few very tiny pinhead dings on the tray and another small one inside bottom of the bowl under the tray (I have tried to capture this in the photos). The feet are secure; the top fits securely; the \"finial\" is firmly attached; the silverplate is uniformly in excellent condition.
