Specializing in affordable costume jewelry from the 1940\'s to 1990\'s, we restore, preserve, and recycle to make the old feel brand new again. I seek out quality vintage jewelry from various local sale houses, friends, galleries, shows, and unique boutiques all from my native home in the historical San Francisco Bay Area. The quality and craftsmanship I find in these little pieces of history are what sets them apart from today\'s jewelry; true vintage pieces are at least 20 years old or older. These are not vintage inspired items replicated to appear older. It has been my personal experience that most of our vintage pieces will outlive todays inspired pieces by another 20 years because of the quality and craftsmanship. Each piece is often made by hand with a strong foundation that will outlive the mass produced pieces made today.
I am a curator of antique and vintage jewelry, so often I hear the phrase, ‟If only this piece could talk, can you imagine the stories it would tell?″ Perhaps a promise ring given to a young lady whose true love is called away to battle before they can say their vows, or a mother proudly displaying a pendant of different birthstones to represent the month each child was born. A simple classic friendship bracelet identical to the one worn by the friend who is proud to claim this is my BFF. Romantic stories surrounding engagement rings, tales of loss clinging to a mourning brooch, a sweet sixteen birthday pendant, so many heartfelt gifts given in the form of jewelry. Each piece I look at makes me wonder about all the places it has traveled, all the lives it has touched, and seen along its journey to find this current destination. Every hand it is passed through gives it energy. I guess you could say each piece has a past, but don\'t we all? Regardless, if you are looking for jewelry that will maintain its value and worth, then vintage is usually a sound investment just for its quality and the craftsmanship.
