You know, last month I found and bought the most gorgeous desk set made like this, and we haven\'t yet listed it as of today, but we will. It might very well be the rest of a large matching set with this as the stationery stand. Certainly it\'s similar enough to round out a lovely desktop. Please look for it in our shop soon (sold separately because it has wreath appliqué rather than the garland and baskets, but the wood and period/look is certainly a compliment). But I digress. Allow me to point out the elaborately appliqué worked and large stationery stand or writer\'s stack you see offered here. With copious garlands and that very French basket, all trim nicely in place and beautifully preserved. AT the upper garland swag you\'ll see a shield cartouche upon which you might still wish to have your own family crest or your monogram engraved. Definitely heirloom quality throughout. The piece will hold all of your correspondence papier/paper, engraved envelopes and handmade cards at the ready. It\'s large enough to hold your full-sized stationery, as well. The stand has 3 sectioned compartments, all trimmed out opulently (please overlook that one little polishing cloth string that clung to the tiny nail - and missed my photographer\'s eye. The piece is much larger than most at 11.75\" long, 6.25\" front to back and 7.75\" high at the back.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. We\'d date this c.1880-1920. The wood has a natural satin-like finish and sets off the more bronze appliqués just beautifully. There are no missing nor broken appliqués. No chips to the old wood, no cracks. Truly a superb piece! Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!

Shipping and Handling Policy:

You are very important! Our fine inventory is very important. And your ranking of our performance is also very important! We wish to keep our 4.9 - 5 star ratings in all categories. Customer satisfaction is paramount with us, so if you\'re thinking we have not deserved your highest marks, please contact us and allow us to be sure your concerns are completely satisfied before you rank us. We aim for 5-star transactions every day, and depend upon you to tell us directly if we have not yet met that standard for your transaction. Thank you! We most often use USPS for our shipping needs but will be happy to ship by another carrier if you prefer.

We charge only actual postage & insurance, never a handling fee and never for packaging materials. is now requiring that our clients rank us on \"shipping\". The shipping price, speed and handling are actually under the sole control of the delivering postal agency, not Antiques & Uncommon Treasure so please remember that and leave us high DSR rankings. As always, please also feel free to contact us if you have any problems or concerns, we\'ll do what we can to ensure a happy and mutually enjoyable has been eliminated as an option by , forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replaceable. Again, damage in transit, while rare in our experience, is due to the postal agency handling and not caused by Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. Please remember that when leaving DSR ratings. Thanks!

Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it.
