For sale is an antique piece that I believe to be from 1850-1900. The person I purchased this from stated it was purchased by her at a French antique market. The fringe is hand made and very unusual. There are small metal rings at the top which measure approximately 3/4\" diameter. I believe this piece was used as a valance for a canopy bed. The color is white which is not a pristine white as this is old. There are no holes that I noted but there are two areas where the bee hive type fringe is missing (see photos) There are also several small areas ofstains which appear to be rust; you can see some of these areas in the photo but there are more areas. This fabric feels like a heavy cotton . Approximate size is 128\" wide, length of 18\" which includes 4\" of fringe. **please note that I am NOT an antique fabric expert and am listing this info to the best of my ability.
