Small Antique (mid -late 19thC) French Napoleon III Meerschaum Reliquary in an Oval Ebonised Metal Frame With Original Domed Glass
The reliquary depicts the head of Christ on the cross. It is very well carved & in a completely honest, original condition. The backing paper is still holding the carving in place & suggests that the carving has never been removed from the frame itself. Meerschaum carving is in great condition & without damage. Ebonised metal frame has some damage to one area only in the form of a split - all is shown in the photos. Original backing paper to the reverse, which shows obvious signs of age. Meerschaum & domed glass is a little loose within the frame but remains securely held. Domed glass has no damage or scratches. Dimensions
