Antique French Paper Mache Bulldog Growler Nodder Pull Toy Wood Wheels c 1890s
Offered is a French papier mache Bulldog, circa 1890s. He measures 21" in length and 11 1/2" in height.
He has a metal chain, when pulled his growler works with assistance, (you have to push his jaw back for him to growl again). The chain no longer retracts. His head moves side to side. He has wooden wheels and can be pulled along. He has big brown glass eyes with the most endearing expression.
His red collar is faded on the top, it is decorated with fiber (coconut hair). He is dusty and there is wear to his paper mache especially around the ears and his furrowed brows, only some of his flocking remains. You should be able to clearly see his condition in the many pictures, any questions, please let me know.
He is clean smelling and in good overall condition considering he is 100+ years old.
He has quite the personality and gets along famously with antique dolls and Teddy Bears! He would be a charming addition to your collection!
