Awonderful century oldantique German silver coin holder. This coin holder is just gorgeous. The spring mechanisms for the 3 coin slots function perfectly. The coin holder closes secure and opens by pushing the button on the side. The holder has a loop to which a chain could be added. A very nice antique piece. This piece is marked \" GER SILVER W.H.S. CO\".Closed, this German coin holder measures3 inches long, 1 1/4 inches wideand 1/2inch thick.
Coin slots are approximately 1\", 7/8\" and 1/2\" wide (should accommodate multiple Quarters, Nickels or Pennies, and Dimes respectively)
We have not attempted to polish the coin holder as the patina is wonderful!
W.H.S Co is the mark for W.H. Saart Company which hailed from Attleboro, MA and manufactured sterling German silver from 1906 to 1917.German silver is nickel silver, made of nickel, copper and zinc. Very good condition, with some expected tarnish for the age.
