Pair of Sterling Silver Coffee/Hot Water Jugs - Antique George V

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique George V English sterling silver coffee/hot water jugs; an addition to our silver teaware collection

These exceptional antique George V sterling silver coffee/hot water jugs have a rounded baluster shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.

The surface of each jug is embellished with applied opposing scrolling leaf ornamentation bordering a chased matt decoration accented with an exceptional figural mask to the underside of the spout.

These fine antique antique jugs are fitted with the original hallmarked plain domed hinged covers ornamented to the domed upper portions with fine and impressive applied and chased quatrefoil shaped leaf decorated designs.

Each cover retains the original, fine and impressive, lobed baluster shaped sterling silver finial.

The jugs are fitted with C shaped handles embellished with chased leaf decoration to the sockets.

The handle of one jug features a fine and impressive cast sterling silver figural ornament depicting a perched faun (half-human half-goat mythical character), perceived as the Greek God Pan, playing a pipe style musical instrument.

The other jug bears an impressive cast figure displaying a partially shrouded, perched female with a quiver of arrows on her back; this embellishment resembles the Greek Goddess Artemis.

The circular foot of each jug is encircled with further impressive egg decoration to the rim.

These exceptional hot water/coffee jugs have the same hallmark credentials and are crafted in the same style as the teapot A1560 and cream jug A1066; they would all sit very well together.

Condition

These antique jugs are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The applied and chased decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each piece and part hallmarks to the rim of each cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique teaware.

Dear Mr Campbell Thank you very much for sending the pearl necklace: it arrived only a couple of days after purchase, beautifully wrapped and packaged, at 8.30am - so you have a first rate courier service! Could I also say how pleasant and how helpful the girl I spoke to on the telephone was. Her enthusiasm for the necklace, and for the quality of your products, decided me when I was not quite sure this was the item I wanted. Cheerfulness, enthusiasm and courtesy are not often encountered in this kind of call. It was a real pleasure!
So congratulations on your staff! Very best wishes TJ G
Cheriton Bishop, Exeter, UKDear Mr Campbell Making purchases from half way round the world is always an interesting experience. You do the best you can and hope. I can say, with no rear of contradiction, that my dealings with AC Silver and Andrew Campbell is certainly worthy of Front Bench status.
The two George III bottle neck rings were of the first quality, and thoroughly described and generously photographed. The transaction itself was smooth and without flaw. Packing and shipping were without incident and arrival was exactly on time.
It was the \'poster child\' for an ideal transaction. Thank you LG, Venerable Wine Paraphenalia,
