Offered is this wonderful antique Art Nouveau ca 1900-1930 Silver Photo Locket ( signed Alpacca ) with a wonderful depiction of a elegant Lady with a multi colored enamel Dress. This fine enamel work is very detailed with vivid colors. Lockets like this one, also called Sweetheart Locket, where given in the early 1900 Germany to there loved ones. The silver Material is called Alpacca and it does look like genuine silver. Money was tight in these days during and after the 1st. World War and not everybody could afford genuine silver, so Alpacca was used in these days instead of genuine silver.

Alpaca Silver or Nickel silver, also known as German silver, is a copper alloy with nickel and often zinc . The usual formulation is 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc and it looks like genuine silver .

This Locket is original and has Patina and will clean up very nice when polished. It is very old, was used and is in nice original condition with some minimal enamel wear to to age.Onlynoticeable when looking with amagnifyingglass or lupe. No Dents.
