This is an antique, Victorian era German teddy bear doll made around the turn of the century
The head is marked 370 AM 8/0 DEP
Made in German by Armand Marseille, this doll/bear measures about 11\" tall with a mohair body stuffed with straw and a bisque head with glass inset eyes and open mouth with 4 teeth
No chips, cracks or damage to the head (there is a glue line on the back of the shoulder plate that makes it appear as if there is a crack, but there is not) and the body shows much fur loss, with the pawpads on the feet having been replaced, but the original mohair half wig is in good condition and attached to the tissue which stuffs the head and the body has jointed arms and legs with 5 individually stitched claws on each limb
It appears as if somebody has made the cute velveteen hood and collar, but inside the hat, I found a piece of sherpa trim which may be an original component
