Antique German Porcelain Cat Jazz Orchestra Trio Drums Bass Horn:

Sweet 3-piece hand painted porcelain cat band from 1920\'s - 1930\'s Germany. This trio was probably part of a larger orchestra. We purchased the set at the estate of a jazz player so this was probably the way the set was given to him.
The trio consists of the drummer, a bass or cello player and a horn player, perhaps a French horn. Each white cat has a cobalt blue jacket, blue eyes and a light red nose and lips. The instruments are hand painted in a gold paint and this paint is in excellent condition for its age, with very minimal losses to the gilding (please see the photos). The back of the bass is marked with an impressed heart, the number 4232-0, and Germany under the number. On the back of the drum are the little heart, the number 4233-0 and Germany. The horn playing cat is marked on his back with the little heart, 4235-0 and Germany. So, the 3 pieces appear to be from a set, all made at the same time.
This would be such a thoughtful gift for someone in a jazz band, someone who collects cats, someone who loves the symphony, someone who just loves music in general. Beware, though -- these little cat bands are like potato chips -- you can\'t have just one!
