A beautifully well preserved Antique Gold Gilt and Gesso Decorated Fancy Picture Frame. Although there have been some touchups in gold coloring on this piece the applied gesso designs are nearly perfect throughout. The designs starting at the inner most sight edge are of a continuous tulip pattern followed by a leaf and berry pattern, then medium size beaded pattern and a series of horizontal and vertical spaced lines, then a gilt solid concave bar, with the main featured gesso design being a rope like cross hatched pattern all the way up the sides. This frame is an eye catcher and with the right piece of art will look museum quality. Measurements are 18.75 by 31 inches overall, 12 by 24 inches sight size, 12.25 by 24.50 rabbet size (art opening in back). Shipping to the USA only.
