This is truly a fabulous Art Nouveau hand fan - the celluloid/bakelite sticks and guards are decorated with golden dots and spangle designs (some are missing but you\'d never notice it when it\'s open unless you look closely). There are golden sequins and round spangles on the leaf. The leaf is silk and starting to split (obviously had gotten a lot of use!) so I had a conservator line the back with a gauze material so that the leaf would stop splitting and the gauze holds everything in place. The sticks and guards are in perfect condition (minus a few spangles) and are two different colors - the light brown is to match the leaf and the dark brown to highlight the entire fan. It has two white pastestones in the rivet (not real precious stones). It measures 8-1/2\" to 10\" long and 13-3/4\" wide when open.
