Since the very beginning many of these won first prizes and gold medals at innumerable world fairs, exhibitions and trade fairs. Goldscheider figures are nowadays very much sought after by collectors worldwide, reaching astonishing prices.

Stanislaus Emil Czapek ... Polish artist born 26-6-1874.

A sculptor who studied at the KGW school academy in Vienna with Edmund Hellmer. In 1904 Stanislaus Czapek was a long time resident of Vienna. He was the first sculptor of manufacturer Friedrick Goldscheider. The numerous certification models of Goldscheider prove this.In 1900 Stanislaus Czapek was also in Paris designing amongst others the memorial of empress Elisabeth in Salzburg. From 1908 his works were present in the (Salon of theSociete des Artistes Francais).

In Goldscheider Stanislaus Czapek used different names andpseudonyms. The French form of his name Capeque/Czapeque made his designs for a strong export, Goldscheider oriented a firm grip and therefore sonorous for the international market. The pseudonym Padola, loved from contemporary advertising ads in magazines and newspapers, is a town in Italy in the Veneto region of the province of Belluno in the heart of the Cadore, bordering the South Tyrol of Austria. It was created for the exceedingly productive Goldscheider artist Stanislaus Czapek to hide behind, probably because Poland was in the middle of the confrontation during World War I, so obviously a lot more commercial than his own polish name !!
