Antique Hershey's Toilet Soap, Cute Vintage Box Great Collectible, Art Deco:
Who knew Hershey's actually once made soap?! Well, from 1938 through 1952 they made and marketed Hershey's Cocoa Butter Toilet Soap, and added a few other varieties during this time. Here's a store display box of three bath size bars in never used condition! The box has a rip on the right back side so that the right side doesn't stay closed. But the bars inside are just perfect. They even still smell great and VERY strong, like fresh cocoa butter the day they were made! The vintage font and design is just so charming. The box measures about 6.5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide, and 1.5 inches tall. According to the Hershey Community Archives website, Milton Hershey was a guy who hated letting things go to waste. He wanted to find a use for cocoa butter, a byproduct of his successful chocolate manufacturing business. His business managers weren't keen on the idea of making soap but Hershey pursued it and after solving a number of logistical problems, a million boxes were produced and marketing began and sales were good. Antique Hershey's Toilet Soap, Cute Vintage Box!. Condition is "New".
