We have on sale an extremely rare beautiful rug was made in 1912 for 100 years anniversary Battle of Borodino in 1812 between the Russians and the French Napoleon Bonappart army. In centurial anniversary of Battle of Borodino there were carpets made on two factories which are Krengolimskoy Factory and Russian Imperial Rug factory in St. Zavidova. In the words of Elena Pazdyakonova, the main curator in Museum, this unique showpiece became one of the central exhibit rarities. It decorated new exhibit “Not without a reason all Russia remembers” of participation of Alatyrcev in protection of homeland in Patriotic War in 1812 years.

Such wonderful rugs you can count on the fingers of your one hand. Specialists believe, that this piece of fabric production was created in small batch and is available in reputed single piece, for which collectors hunt to get. These rare exhibits are preserved in museums of Kursk, Donetsk, Saratov, Tihoretsk and Alatyr.
On the wool rug there is a reproduction painting of Aleksey Kivshenko “General Kutuzov at the council of Fili”, painted by him in 1880. Main curator of Alatyr museum reminded, that Kivshenko created his piece under the influence of Lev Tolstoy roman. On the canvas artist represented 11 generals and hut owners granddaughter, who is sat quietly on the stove. On the paintwork there is a representation of central moment of the meeting, to be precise the wilful strategic decision of Kutuzov to give up Moscow in order to save the military troops.

Он украсил новую выставку «Недаром помнит вся Россия» об участии алатырцев в защите родины в Отечественной войне 1812 года.
Такие чудные ковры можно пересчитать по пальцам одной руки. Специалисты полагают, что изделие фабричного производства было изготовлено малой серией и давно слывет штучным товаром, за которым гоняются коллекционеры. Известно, что сохраняют редкие экспонаты в музеях Курска, Донецка, Саратова, Тихорецка, а теперь вот и в Алатыре.
На шерстяном ворсовом ковре воспроизведена картина художника Алексея Кившенко «Военный совет в Филях», созданная им в 1880 году. Главный хранитель алатырского музея напомнила, что мастер писал ее под впечатлением романа Льва Толстого. На холсте художник изобразил 11 генералов (хотя точное их количество, говорят, неизвестно и колеблется от 10 до 15) плюс внучку хозяина избы Малашу, затаившуюся на печке. Можно сказать, что на картине изображен центральный момент совета, а именно – волевое стратегическое решение Кутузова сдать Москву в пользу сохранения армии.
К вековому юбилею Бородинского сражения были изготовлены ковры на двух фабриках. В Алатыре, вроде бы, экспонируется изделие, вытканное на Кренгольмской мануфактуре. Но встречаются и ковры «Русской Мануфактуры Ковровых Изделий Ст. Завидово». Однако пусть алатырцы не пугаются, увидев в музее «вариант какой-то неправильный». Если на многих сохранившихся коврах, как и на настоящей картине художника, Кутузов восседает в левом углу стола, то на выставленном в Алатыре изделии главнокомандующий Русской армией находится в правом. Словом, представлено полностью зеркальное изображение картины.

Condition report:

Overall, this rug is in a good condition, but has wear commensurate with age around the edges, two tears, one on the bottom of the rug 22 cm tear, and the other on the left side is 10 cm. and has two small holes and wearing to weave in few places.
