Estate find
Hand woven four color double sided coverlet dated 1839
Colors are blue, red, yellow, white.
Pattern is fourliliessurroundingeight sided star with doves holding olive branches in their mouth facing trees. Border is two rows of 8 sided stars.
Similar to other Jacquard woven coverlets that had been on display at the Green Castle Museum in 2002 if you want to Google it.
Measures about 88\" by 66\"
Name is John B Doner who according to some research may have been from the Lancaster PA area
Absolutely beautiful piece.
Very light wear with primary issues being are a small hole near the middle seam and in the corners where a mouse started to nibble through it while in storage. I believe these could berepairedby the right person
Fringe looks very good for being about 175 years old with only a few worn areas
